Brian and Hope Fisher

We are long-time residents of Brevard County and have always believed in giving back to our community through philanthropy. We enjoyed Zoo visits and children's camps when Brevard Zoo was built and we had a young child. However, we became much more involved over the past 10 years through Jaguar Society, which was a birthday present to each other. Next, we sponsored the Butterfly exhibit and bicycle shed as our 30th wedding anniversary gift to each other. As we became more involved, we have made pledges for keeper scholarships and other specific needs. As we learned more about the needs and operations, we gained a true appreciation for the Zoo's importance to the community in the areas of conservation, education and animal wellness. In 2019, Hope was asked to join the ECZS Board.

Having been associated with many non-profit organizations in Brevard County, we have been especially impressed with the Zoo's management and the passion and dedication of the entire staff to achieve their goals. Rather than addressing a single social issue, the Zoo benefits the entire community—supporting a diverse population through hands-on activities and educational programs and giving a close view of animals in their natural habitats. We believe the tremendous focus on animal wellness, conservation and our waterways makes the world a better place. As we've witnessed the growth and achievements the Zoo has made over the past 26 years, it's also exciting to bring visitors from other areas and watch their amazement at the variety of animals the Zoo supports, the critical programs for endangered species the Zoo participates in and "our" local Zoo's ability to accomplish so much in the community and beyond.

Brevard Zoo was built by the community and doesn't receive any recurring government funds. We believe that makes our contributions even more important. We're thrilled to be able to share our passion for the Zoo by making a legacy commitment to ensure the Zoo will continue its mission for generations to come.
